OK everybody......HERE WE GO, the beginning of everything. Not the beginning
of time, or the beginning of the end.......but the start of our true relationship
with you....the fan. Is fan even the right word? You are reading this because
you interested in the prospect of something new, something different. You
think maybe there is hope in this world for fresh ideas and original thoughts
to exist......You are hoping for group of people, and a group of songs to
help explain some of the awful shit going on in this world, and to also
show the source of beauty. So are you a fan? or an optimist? or a dreamer?
I will say this: I have been involved with alot of music in my life, I have
played on alot of records, but I have NEVER......EVER felt the way I do
about this band, these songs, the way it feels to play this music, our future................................So
what does it mean to you ? It means you are with us....You are here on the
first day of a new thing, a box-less process, a fresh set of ideas. And
be proud of your self for seeking out something not everyone will understand.
something that for some will define nothing, and for us, everything.

articolo apparso su "Spin Magazine" dove si parla di Tom DeLonge e della
sua nuova band. Leggete...
-Fans of grandiose stars like Bono and Jay-Z, take not: Tom DeLonge's
ego is on the rise. The former blink-182 guitarist returnes this spring
with Angels & Airwaves, an assemblage of musicians (Box Car Racer guitarist
David Kennedy, former distillers bassist Ryan Sinn, and Rocket From the
Crypt drummer Adam Willard) who will help him achieve "world domination."

"I made a record that was what I wished a rock record would have sounded
like in the last 20 years," DeLonge says. "The Larger-than-life heroics
of the '70s prog rock, the electronic experimentation and digital sonics
of the '80's, and the enerty and accessibility of the punk-rock movement
that blink was a part of in the '90s"
Equally inspired by personal crises and global events, A&A reflect DeLonge's
fascination with politics (he stumped for John Kerry in 2004). "Blink were
the pinnacle of the band that doesn't care about anything," he says. "When
i started to get political, Travis [Barker] and Mark [Hoppus] really didn't
back me up on it. I was going to buy a place in D.C. and possibly work with
the [potential Kerry administration]".
Instad of becoming a wonk, DeLonge made an album and feature film that will
mix CGI, images depcting World War 2, and a love story taht he says is "something
that Pink Floyd probably would have done with The Wall." "There will be
actors in it," he says. "I can't say who. You might see Brad Pitt naked,
if that will help."

un bulletin postato da Tom su MySpace dove ci aggiorna un po' su quella
che è la situazione dei suoi Angels and Airwaves:
"Hey guys-
just wanted to give you a little update as to whats going on with angels
and airwaves.
Things are starting to go light speed here in Angels land..... Rehearsals
are happening every night to get ready for a few weeks of special shows
in Europe and in the states as well... I have met with multiple magazines
as well as Fuse and MTV, and they all agree that the record is everything
it is hyped up to be, but more...which is good, so I can stop my big, over-excited
mouth, and I can let others do the talking. The short film is out, although
it seems to be over some peoples head, the vast majority of you got it,
and loved the story....the creation of perfect love with perfect life, the
making, and story of Angels and Airwaves. The video for the adventure is
going to be shot in the next couple weeks, and oh my God, just wait and
see ...I finally had some friends and family come to see the band play,
every body’s arms were covered with chills, and I felt like I was on another
planet...I can not wait to let you guys in on this....this is the beginning
of a movement, not a band...not a scene, but a way of life-

un'altra data europea per gli Angels and Airwaves. A quanto pare la band
di Tom DeLonge si esibirà per l'MTV Rock-am-Ring 2006 che si terrà
in Germania dal 2 al 6 Giugno.

già detto in passato Travis Barker ha dato il suo contributo, doppiando
la voce del Poliziotto #3, nel film animato "Live Freaky! Die Freaky!" firmato
John Roecker. Nel cast ci sono anche altri artisti del calibro di Davey
Havok (AFI), Tim Armstrong (Rancid, The Transplants), Nick 13 (Tiger Army),
Matt Freeman (Rancid), l'italianissima attrice Asia Argento e moltissimi
altri...
Sarebbe
arrivata la fine anche per i Transplants. E' quanto emerge da un'intervista
