"Hello everybody, this is a first for me, but I couldn't wait any longer. I have a new band called "Angels and Airwaves" and it is the most amazing music I have ever made by a long shot. You all must know, I didn't want Blink to go on hiatus, but it had to....you all will learn why...soon, but I swear to god, I am two songs from finishing the best fucking album anybody has heard in 20 years. In the next couple of weeks, you will all hear about the new band as well as the movie that is being made to tell the story of the album. But no matter what is said, or talked about, no matter what rumors are started, this is the best music made in decades....It is so much more powerful, emotional and melodic than Box Car and Blink put together, that I am currently shitting my pants, and your pants as well....until you hear more, all I can say is hold on, and prepare- Tom "I love my fans, and I promise I will not let you down, the music that we all grew to charish that was made, not only will continue, but it will be much, much better..."

Già in passato il sito ufficiale della ormai ex-band dei Blink 182 riportava la news del Greatest Hits. Poi fu cancellata, ripostata ed in seguitoricancellata.

Meet The Barkers, voci dicorridoio

SHRINK-WRAPPED REALITY: Apparently the hot lights of reality TV are taking their toll on Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and his wife, former Miss USA Shanna Moakler. Their MTV show, "Meet the Barkers," the punk cousin of Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson's "Newlyweds," is filming the second season, to air in the fall. A Lowdown spy close to the production reports: "They were talking about splitting, but wanted to try for the kids, so the whole next season is about them in therapy."
    
The Barkers have a son, Landon, nearly 2, and are raising Atiana de la Hoya, Moakler's 6-year-old daughter from her previous relationship with boxer Oscar de la Hoya. Reps for MTV did not return detailed messages.

A fine ottobre un Best Of del trio americano

Greatest Hits in arrivo per i Blink 182.

La band americana - scioltasi improvvisamente alcuni mesi fa - pubblicherà questo autunno una raccolta di successi per la gioia dei fan, che ancora non si sono ripresi dalla loro rottura.
Il disco, che vedrà la luce il 28 ottobre, includerà i più grandi successi del trio composto da Tom De Longe, Mark Hoppus e Travis Barker, più un brano inedito rimasto escluso dalle recording session dell'ultimo album omonimo.

"I don't know. To be honest, I didn't even know what the press release was going to say. We kind of decided to take a break on the last European tour and that's what we're doing. I don't know what the future holds, if anything, for blink but I'll never say never. It's something that definitly needed to happen, and after so many years of touring and recording and everything else we needed to take a step back and do some other stuff for awhile..."

-Now that blink-182 is over, is the Transplants your main focus?
"Absolutely, It's always meant the world to me. It was always a bona fide real band to us. But this time we're going to make up for lost time, for all the times we never got to put into this band before. We're doing Warped Tour, then festivals in Europe, and then we'll be doing a headlining tour and going to Japan next year."

-How's work with Mark Hoppus on Plus-44 going?
"It's amazing. It's Mark, my friend Carol Heller and myself. This is just something new and refreshing, it's a new chapter in our lives and our writing. It just feels good to write music and do something that's different and that's a departure from Blink."

-Have you hung out with Tom Delonge recently?
"No, I haven't actually. Tom is doing his own thing and he has his own solo thing, so he's busy doing that while I'm doing the Transplants and Mark and I are doing Plus-44."

I Foo Fighters sono stati i primi a confermare il progetto di un album da solista di Tom DeLonge. Radio 1 ha avuto fra gli ospiti i Foo Fighters allo Jo Wiley's special Live Lounge martedì mattina. Nell'intervista una domanda riguardava lo studio privato dei Foo Fighters.

San Diego Musica Awards 2005

E come spesso accade, ecco i Blink fra le nomination deiSan Diego Music Awards! "I Miss You" è stata nominata nella categoria Song Of The Year. Purtroppo il pubblico non può votare in questa categoria, la decisione sarà infatti presa dai membri della San Diego Music Academy.

Già in passato i Blink 182 avevano vinto in varie categorie con arie canzoni:

Prime indiscrezioni Greatest Hits e DVD

Tempo fa giravano voci su un eventuale greatest hits e un terzo capitolo della serie di DVD "The Urethra Chronicles". Il Greatest His è stto confermano. Il DVD no. Rob Abeyta Jones, che lavora per Geffen, scrive sia sulla pagina ufficiale dei Blink 182 su MySpace che su quella dei Plus 44:
"good news
I've been asked to contribute some of my artwork for Blink 182's best of/greatest hits album!

Ricapitolando cosa è successo ai Blink 182...

Un visitatore di B182.com, James, cercando alcune news del sito ha ripescato un vecchio articolo di "Kerrang!" dove Mark Hoppus dice che la band si stava rompendo già dai tempi dei Box Car Racer. E' una parte interessante dell'articolo. Per leggere l'articolo intero basta cliccare qui
    
[Mark Hoppus] will also tell you candidly that Blink 182 was on the rocks for a long while, that Box Car Racer (Delonge's side-project) nearly split the band and that, for a while, he had no idea whether Tom Delonge was still his friend. "At the end of the tour in 2001 it felt like Blink 182 had broken up. It wasn't spoken about, it wasn't offical, but it felt over." dice Hoppus.
     
It was Box Car Racer that nearly ended Blink 182. Mark Hoppus is blunt in his oppostion to that band. He bristles at the mention of it. This was a group that the other two members of his band formed without him, without really concidering him. It hurt him deeply...

    
Alla fine dell'articolo, riferendosi all'ultimo album (Blink 182), Mark dice: "It feels like our band is fresh again.".

Blink 182 are dead. Long live Blink 182.

So what's Tom up to?

Tom is the only one that can answer that question. Tom is the most creative person that we have ever worked with, and he is always working on something. Some time it is new shoes, and some time it is music, just for himself. This is just Tom. Even last year, when he was on tour with blink, he was still writing music and helping us with our products. We don't know what he may want to do with his music, but at some point we know he will want to share it with the world.

I Fenix Tx nuovamente insieme

Dopo 3 anni dallo scoglimento della band (dei Fenix Tx, dove Mark Hoppus era nello staff management), Salazar ha ricevuto una chiamata dal batterista di formazione Damon Delapaz. "All it took was that call, that conversation," dice Salazar. "It was like, 'You know, dude, I miss playing.' We had both gotten so many emails from fans wondering why it was we broke up in the first place, and more importantly why there was never a farewell tour. So we decided to set up a show.". La band -- Salazar, Delapaz, chitarrista Chris Lewis e bassista Adam Lewis -- in fretta hannodecisoche gli show saranno ben due: il 19 e 20 Agosto. Infatti i Fenix Tx ritorneranno on stage a Phoenix, AZ, e in entrambi le esibizioni verranno iniziate le registrazioni di un CD/DVD live che vedrà la luce verso fine 2005.

Buon Ferragosto!

Sarò breve perchè per fare questo aggiornamento ho dovuto fare salti quasi mortali. Sono in attesa che mi arrivi l'ADSL Alice e quindi ora sono senza internet.

Volevo ringraziare tutte le persone che mentre ero in vacanza mi hanno tenuto aggiornato sulla situazione dei Blink 182, del sito e soprattutto del Forum.

purtroppo non so che cosa sia successo al forum ma spero si risolva tutto, altrimenti quessto significa che perderemo tutte le discussioni di quasi 2 anni e sarò costretto a creare un'altro forum.

Inoltre volevo avvisarmi che, per non trascurare il sito, ho voluto postare tutti (o quasi) gli aggiornamenti e le news che non ho potuto postare durante questa mia assenza, che onestamente non so quanto durerà ancora. Dipende da quelli di Alice. Quindi se vi capita di leggere le news qui sotto, sappiate che quella che vanno dal 26/7 al 14/8 sono tutte state postate oggi e non nella data indicata. Ve lo dico per correttezza! ;-)

Curiosità fra Atticus e Blink 182

I Blink 182 non sono più tra i gruppi "Support" nel sito dell'Atticus.

Come va interpretato questo avvenimento adesso? I Blink 182 si sono sciolti definitivamente e quindi non sono più una band o solo che l'intero gruppo non vuole più supportare l'Atticus per qualche ragione?

La seconda ipotesi sarebbe assurda dato che l'Atticus Clothing è di Hoppus...

Travis su "Rock Mag" / Domestic Goddess

Barker su "Rock Mag"

Travis Barker appare sulla copertina della rivista francese "Rock Mag" e all'interno c'è anche una intervista dove oltre a parlare dei Transplants parla anche un pochino dei Blink 182 e ci rivela che, sempre secondo lui, se i Blink 182 sono morti è colpa di Tom.

Ecco una citazione di quanto ha detto Barker in merito ai Blink 182 e al loro scoglimento: "I Blink-182 non esistono più a causa di Tom.".

Che cose tristi da sentir per tutti noi fans.

Album dei Plus 44 a Gennaio: solo rumori!!!

Si trattava solo di false voci quelle che dicevano della possibile uscita in Gennaio 2006 del primo album dei Plus 44 (Travis Barker, Mark Hoppus). Qui c'è un articolo di MTV che dice che l'album dei Plus 44 uscirà molto probabilmente nell'estate 2006. E questo è quanto l'articolo dice sul countdown sul sito della Resting Bird: "It's got nothing to do with Blink or Plus-44 or Travis Barker or anything like that...It's something completely different. I can't tell you what exactly it is, but it's something wonderful."

Avril Lavigne durante i suoi spettacoli è solita fare cover. Nel suo prepertorio c'era già "Smells Like Teen Spirit" dei Nirvana e "Basket Case" dei Green Day. Adesso al suo repertorio si aggiunge l'ormai classica "All The Small Things" dei Blink 182.

Mark Hoppus: Produzione Less Than Jake

I Less Than Jake si trovano attualmente a Los Angeles, CA, intenti a proseguire la fase di pre-produzione del loro nuovo album iniziata già in giugno.
          
Una volta terminata questa fase di preparazione alle registrazioni vere e proprie, il gruppo inizierà le incisioni effettive delle tracce, e sembra che Mark Hoppus di Blink 182 e Plus 44 e Butch Walker (produttore di American Hi-Fi, Midtown e Bowling For Soup) aiuteranno il quintetto per la produzione artistica del lavoro.
  
L'album, il settimo nella carriera del gruppo (includendo la raccolta del primo materiale "Losers, Kings, And Things We Don't Understand"), seguirà "Anthem", uscito nel maggio del 2003 per Sire Records (Warner Brothers), che nel luglio dell'anno successivo ha anche licenziato la raccolta "B Is For B-Sides".

Mark Hoppus parla ad Alternative Press dello "iato indefinito"

Tutti voi saprete che Mark ha prodotto il CD "Commit This To Memory" dei Motion City Sountrack, giusto? Bne, quando Alternative Press ha chiesto qualcosa sullo "iato indefinito" dei Blink 182, ecco cosa Mark ha risposto: "Actually, the day after that ["indefinite hiatus"] statement was released, I went and met him in LA to master the record. I spent the day with him in the mastering studio. He basically told me that he didn't know what was going on, and the statement wasn't released by them but through their management. Also I found this in a recent MTV article about the latest movies: "If you've already tuned in to their TV show "Meet the Barkers," then you're familiar with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and his actress/ former Miss USA wife, Shanna Moakler. In case you're wondering what the lovebirds are up to on a given Friday night, Travis is happy to name a few of their intended date movies. "I want to see 'Lords of Dogtown,' that looks really good," the tattooed reality star offered. "And I want to see the jeans movies, 'Sisterhood of the Traveling Jeans' (sic). That's the sh--. Just so I can say I did." As for Shanna, she'd rather be in movies than watch them: "I'm going to New Orleans to shoot 'Big Momma's House 2,' " she said. "It's a small part, but it's going to be fun."

You might want to watch on Wednesday at 2:00 PM in case that's really the day it premieres, and if it did premiere on that day we'll let ya know.

Nuove novità... non so se si può dire! XD

Purtroppo sono stato "costretto" a dividere le news almeno ogni 6 mesi perchè la pagina si era appesantita troppo e a volte da alcuni (me compreso) non veniva visualizzata correttamente. Sarò breve... il sito non ha nessun nuovo aggiornamento a parte la sezione dedicata ai Transplants che viene aggiornata molto spesso in occasione dell'uscita del loro nuovo album. Ultima cosa da dire è che potete raggiungere l'archivio di tutte le news (da quando ha aperto il sito sino ad oggi) dal menu che trovate a fine pagina (esattamente sotto questa news). Bene, detto questo... ci si becca tutti nel Forum! Ah, un'altra cosa... fate anche un salto nelle sezioni Strumenti e Stuff che di recente ho aggiornato e che continuerò ad aggiornare. Intanto, dato che le news scarseggiano e che il sito lo aggiorno pochino, ho deciso di aprirmi un Blog raggiungibile a questo indirizzo http://afireinside182.splinder.com. Adesso mi prendo 4-5 giorni di vacanza. Ricordateci anche del sito sui Finch, Worms of the Earth!
